A Personal and National Tragedy
The Public Health Dentists of America recently prepared a paper which stated that periodontal disease is at an epidemic level. 87% of the people in this country have some form of periodontal disease. And the further tragedy is this: that people are unaware of the severity of this public health menace.
Prevention and education are the only answers.
What this program represents is the easiest and most effective method available today to achieve oral health, a mouth that is as plaque free as possible.
Gum disease progresses at a steady pace, most often without painful symptoms. Every person needs to have a periodic complete periodontal evaluation to assess the state of gum disease in his/her mouth. 87% of the population has a periodontal problem that will result in greater expenses and dental disability in the future, if the necessary steps are not taken to correct the problem.
Every human being should be aware of the early warning signs of periodontal disease: red and puffy gums, easily bleeding gums, and/or bad breath. If you, your family members, or friends are experiencing any of these symptoms, or have any questions, or are concerned about periodontal health, please don't hesitate to call our office for help.
