Teeth Whitening Treatments

Teeth Whitening comes in many forms, and individuals who would like to have a white, glistening and spotless set of teeth have several options to choose from. Some of those options are for regular teeth whitening which takes a bit of time to show clear results, and some are more drastic, which can produce results in a single short session of whitening. Then there are some technologically advanced ones, which produce great results without damaging the teeth.

In this article, we will be taking a look at distinct teeth whitening procedures, which have proven highly effective and efficient, both in terms of maintaining teeth health and delivering that gorgeous white smile that you want.

KöR Whitening System

The KöR whitening system comes in the form of a teeth whitening kit that is applied on the teeth in the same manner as a custom whitening tray, with the difference being that it is usually left in overnight. The KöR whitening system kit, which contains the tray, whitening gel and a teeth desensitizer, is used to bleach the teeth deeply, removing stains and brighten your smile. Since it is a teeth whitening kit, it can be applied at home with just a few simple steps.

Laser Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening has become one of the first requests that dental patients have when visiting their dentist.

Laser teeth whitening is administered in a dental office exclusively and is the most expensive method for whitening. Bleach is applied to each tooth, and heat generated by a laser enhances its effectiveness while ultimately speeding up the process. This procedure uses a strong bleaching gel that the laser activates and enhances for quick, dramatic results. The bleach used is a hydrogen peroxide gel that ranges from 25 to 40 percent in concentration levels. With these high concentrations, special precautions are taken to reduce tooth sensitivity, as well as protect the lips, gums and other oral tissues from being damaged.

Laser teeth whitenng takes about an hour in the dental office. Oftentimes, several treatments are needed to achieve the desired results and bleaching trays for home use may be needed as well to improve or maintain those results.

Laser teeth whitening isn't for everyone and is just one option to whiten your teeth. To find out more about teeth whitening, schedule a consultation at Horizon Dental Center by calling us at 402-330-5080.

Opalescence Boost

Opalescence Boost is a chemically activated power whitening gel that provides brighter, whiter teeth after just 40 minutes in the dental chair. The powerful 40% hydrogen peroxide gel is chemically activated, so it doesn’t require a hot, uncomfortable light to work.

Opalescence Boost consists of two syringes: The first contains 38 percent hydrogen peroxide, the active tooth whitening ingredient. The second syringe contains fluoride and potassium nitrate (PF), which helps strengthen tooth enamel, reduce sensitivity and protect against cavities. When mixed, the gel produces a distinct red color to help ensure correct placement and full removal of the product.

Safe and effective, Opalescence Boost usually takes only one dental visit to complete. While one visit is all you need to achieve a brighter smile, difficult stains or extreme discoloration may require additional treatments.

At Horizon Dental Center, Opalescence Boost is just one of many teeth whitening options. Call us at 402-330-5080 to schedule a consultation.

Take Home Trays

Take-home whitening trays are a type of teeth whitening procedure that you can perform at the comfort of your home. This is an easy and cost-effective tooth whitening treatment that can be easily obtained. You must follow the instructions given by our dentist to see the results at home. Although they can be a convenient option, obtaining great results can take longer than other treatments and they don’t always work well for deep stains. These trays are custom made to go over your teeth and whiten your teeth through a special gel that is found on the inside of the trays. These trays can then be taken home as a teeth whitening kit, along with the guidelines given by our dentist. The time that they must remain on your teeth can vary according to your teeth whitening needs.

These trays, once made for you, can then be taken home as a teeth whitening kit, along with the guidelines given by our dentist. The time period that they must remain on your teeth can vary according to your teeth whitening needs. They can also be used several times to achieve the desired results. Our dentist can further advice on how many times they should be used in your case.
Custom whitening trays are trays that are clear and are usually made of a clear plastic that comfortably adjusts when inserted. A hydrogen peroxide-infused gel is inserted in each tray, giving them their whitening properties. The gel consists of a hydrogen peroxide solution that actively whitens the enamel of the teeth.
After they have been used and are taken off, they need to be cleaned with a Q-tip or a cloth and rinsed. This makes them ready to be used again. It is not recommended to use them for at least another day, after each application. Our dentist would be happy to further go into detail about the process during your teeth whitening consultation.

There are many teeth whitening methods, each containing a similar yet different process and outcome. Treatments will effect each individual differently, which is why we will recommend a proper consultation with our dentist prior to choosing the right option for you. Additionally, everyones current state of oral health is different, so certain treatments may not work for you. If you are looking to achieve a brighter smile, visit Horizon Dental Center in Omaha, Nebraska, for effective and efficient teeth whitening services.
